Cost of installing ceiling pendant?

Hi

I have a 40's cape house with (i'm guessing) plaster ceilings. I'd like to install a ceiling pendant in the center of our liv. room ceiling and since there's no light fixture there as of now, i'm guessing someone would have to fish wires through for that. We currently only have table lamps.

Any idea how much this could cost?

Very location dependent, and even things like the joist direction.

Keep in mind that electricians do not normally patch walls, even walls they damage installing wires.

Depending on your location it can be anything from simple to find someone to repair plaster, to almost impossible.

You can reduce the plaster damage by having the electrician spend more time, or pay for the plaster repair.

Drywall repair is usually very easy, both to do and to find someone to hire (though experience with new installs does not make for an expert at repair).
