Need help with my front porch light fixtures. I feel like so many houses miss the boat on proper size and placement of these that it's making it hard for make to decide. We have a double set of 9 foot doors for the front entry. Together they will be 5 foot wide. I chose 27" copper wall mounted lanterns at the advice of 1/4 height of the door. I'm having trouble deciding how high to mount them. I've found 6-7 ft from the floor for a 9 ft door. The lights mount towards the top of the fixture so I'm not sure if 6-7 ft from the floor means where you mount it or where the bottom of the fixture sits. I don't want them too high or too low. We need to let the electrician know where to set the boxes.
