size of kitchen fixture and other questions

My kitchen table is round, 60 inches.
How wide of a fixture could I do?

It's about 35 inches wide. The guy at the store said it would look too big over a 5 ft wide table? Thoughts?
Maxim Lighting 20610VAOI ---this is the light fixture.

Also, many of the light fixtures that I like, they dont have in any stores to see. I am terrified to order a fixture and then to see it and not like it. They are ordered in and cant be returned.

Also, in my upper hallway, in the open stairwell area. I wasnt a ling light. But I think I need to move the fixture over a foot or two. I have the popcorn ceiling.
Any ideas? How expensive would this be?

RE: size of kitchen fixture and other questions

It would have quite a presence. How big is the room and how long is the table.

RE: size of kitchen fixture and other questions

The table is 5 feet all, it's round.

The eating area is 14ft by 16 ft.
It is open to the actual kitchen which is 18 X 10.

RE: size of kitchen fixture and other questions

It will be good sized but should look ok given the size of the room.
