It seems like everyone is having questions about kitchen lighting these days. Here is mine. :)

I have a 9 x 4 island centered in a kitchen with 20 x 10 dimensions. Also centered in the island is a 36" sink. Directly behind it is a very large hood which is 6ft in length. I am leaning towards two island pendants (something substantial) that are toward each end of the island so as they do not block the view of the hood, but am afraid the center of my island will be too dark. I definitely do not want three pendants. So the question is have you ever seen a can over the sink in the middle an island with pendants on each side? Would that look goofy? As it is a u-shaped kitchen, I just have standard 6 inch cans around my perimeter. What do you all think? I definitely want a well-lit island--it is the workhorse of my kitchen. Thanks for your suggestions!
