Why my dryer has soot ?

Posted by ice_cream_lover (My Page) on

My Whirpool gas dryer is new (2 months old) and it began to soot through the inside holes . It's not a lot, but there's soot, so far my clothes aren't damaged, but it worries me.
What's going on with this soot ?
Thanks for your help,
Alma

RE: Why my dryer has soot ?

Are you on LP gas? if so, your dryer may not have been converted properly. The soot is generally caused by an incomplete burn of gas due to improper gas to air mix.
