using non he cheer in front loader

So I switched to powdered detergent to rid my front loader of the stink (finally found something that works!) but am noticing that my clothes don't smell as clean as they used to.... so based on recommendations I have read here I am planning on trying Tide HE with Bleach Alternative powder for my lights and white but what to use for the darks? Thought I had found the solution in Cheer powder (from many recommendations here) but read the post about what Cheer said about not using it in HE machine (from several years ago) so now I am hesitant to try it. I live in the US and need to find something that will be available in stores, not online. Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Why do you not just use Tide he powder or Gain he powder?? They are available at every Target, Walmart and even our local Vons (Safeway) and Ralphs (Kroger) stock them both. Reliable, relatively cheap and convenient!!

I wanted to try the Cheer because of all the raves on this forum related to best laundry detergent. I have tried the Gain and it is ok and will try the regular Tide HE powder if I decide I don't want to use the non HE Cheer. Hoped to hear from some of the Cheer lovers who have front loaders.

Cheer powder is great. It doesn't produce any suds in my FL and it has a really light, clean scent. Cleans well too.

I have two front loaders, with mechanically softened water, and I have used powdered Cheer on all my colored laundry for years and years. Adjust your dosing to just the right amount, and it will clean and then rinse away very well. I hope they never stop making it!

I have been using Cheer non HE powder in my front loader for years with great results and no ill effects to my 9 year old machine.

I use non-HE Cheer powder in my "water-hog" top loader for darks in warm water and whites in hot water and it cleans very well. Love it. Hope it is never discontinued. I will hoard boxes also if I have to.
