Storing powdered laundry detergent

Posted by dbfirewife (My Page) on

I keep my powdered laundry detergent in the cabinet above my washer, in a gallon size oblong/oval plastic pitcher. I like reaching in and grabbing it by the handle on the pitcher rather then the akward box the detegent comes in. I have never kept a lid on it and for some reason today I wondered if I should be keeping a lid on it.. opinions?... thanks

RE: Storing powdered laundry detergent

You only really need to protect powdered detergents from moisture. Unless your cupboard is in a humid space - like a bathroom - there's no need for a lid. As long as it's still powdery you're fine.
