How to stack front loading machines

I am re-doing the laundry room because I want a utility sink. I can make room for it if I stack my washer and dryer instead of having them side by side. Which unit goes on top, washer or dryer?

The dryer must go on top. Check the installation instruction for your machine. A manufacturer-provided stacking kit is usually necessary to anchor the dryer to the washer ... otherwise it can potentially shift askew from washer vibrations during spin, and even fall off.
