Surf detergent

I bought some a couple of months ago at Walmart and spouse liked the way it smells. Now I can't find it at Walmart or anyplace else. I have tried Freds, Dollar General, Family Dollar, etc.

Is there a Big Lots near you? Sometimes they have brands other stores seem to have forgotten.

Our local Walmart carries it but I know that doesn't help you. Have you checked Safeway? I know I have seen it there too.

I still see it at my Wal Mart. Kmart might have it or Target. Some of the grocery stores also may have it. I believe I saw it at Dollar General the other day. It is crazy how one store will have it and another of the same store doesn't. The DG closest to me doesn't carry Oxydol but there is one about 12 miles away that does. One manager in a Family Dollar told me "we just get what they send us"--so I guess that is why it varies???

I've seen Surf in my area at Walmart, Target, Kmart, Dollar General, Family Dollar, and Sam's Club.

Did you check with the store to see if they were getting more in? They may have just run out. I know in my area with the economy being bad lots of people are looking for less expensive alternatives to Tide.

happymom, all our local Walmart stores have been putting Tide detergent -- all formulas, regular and HE -- on sale throughout this year, something I don't recall seeing before. As a result, the price is much more competitive, especially when I use coupons. I can only assume they are doing this because of the economy.

mara,

I wish they did that here more often. It only goes on sale about once every two months where I'm at and when it does it sells out fast.

You might want to ask at some of the stores but I suspect there's an issue in the distribution channel in your area. All the main stores around here still carry Surf so I don't think there should be an issue getting it under normal circumstances. Asking at a smaller grocery store if they can order it for you is another possibility.

RE: Surf detergent

I was at Wal Mart today and they had Surf:

80 loads for $9.96
120 loads for $10.96 (said Rollback on this)

The 120 size was in two different scents, the 80 load in only one scent.

Also noticed, they have been having Tide HE Powder 80 load for $10.96 today it was $15.96 so I guess the "sale" is off Tide.

Keep checking your store and maybe they will get the Surf back.
