Anyone tried Purex HE

I was wondering if anyone here has tried Purex HE. It is made by Dial, which I guess is owned by Henkel. Henkel manufactures Persil right? Has anyone tried Purex HE and does it work as well as the Persil?

My understanding is that Henkel and Dial have a joint venture agreement but are not jointly owned.

From the way people talk about Persil and the experience I've had with Purex together with the other reports on Purex, they're nothing alike in performance.

The only time I'd use Purex would be those times when clothes need essentially a rinse. I've never been impressed with Purex performance.

cynic,

Thank you. I knew the regular wasn't that great from when I first got married and we had little money, but I was unsure if the HE was just as much of a waste.

I have had to switch detergents lately so I've been pondering different brands.

I did not have any luck at all with Purex HE. I have two kids with lots of stains and this did nothing to take them out even with pretreating with Shout.

I would also like to add to this conversation.

Even if Purex was owned by the same company that makes another product, it just means they are owned by the same company. The formulary will be different for different product lines.

I do formulary (but more on the end for bath & body, etc.) and there can be different lines within the same company but the formulary is different for the various lines. Most of the time there is a budget line and the premium line which of course the budget line will have less proprietary ingredients boosting performance.

Hope that helps ;)

xhappyx,

That does help. Thank you. I was never quite sure if companies commonly did different formulations for different brands they manufactured or if they just slapped different brand names on the same thing to save time and money. It's good info to know when shopping.
