Fahrenheit or Centigrade?

@asolo - good question. I can't imagine 70/80F melting any adhesive sufficiently for a good bond.

Right, Fahrenheit makes no sense, so it must be Celsius. 70-80 degC is the clothes iron setting for wool, based on a quick web search. It so happens that I used an iron-on patch yesterday, and indeed the instructions said to preheat the iron on the wool setting.

Wool setting sounds about right. That's the first time I've seen a specific temperature given. I couldn't find any charts or equivalents by doing a web search. Thanks for your help.

Hi, It's best to go with cotton settings. I think it's on medium settings on irons and apply pressure on the patch for about 20-30 seconds. You can find lots of useful information on iron on patches by visiting this site. www.irononpatches.info.
