Samsung top-load HE WA48H7400AW washer experience

We need to replace our 16-year-old Amana top-load washer. We've been happy with the old one. We don't need a lot of fancy features, but I want good cleaning and spinning and improved efficiency would be great.

There are so many mixed reviews out there on washers that I've been struck that those for the Samsung WA48H7400AW that seem to be much more positive. Does anyone have experience with this model? Love it? Hate it?

I was thinking of an Amana again or Speed Queen, but it doesn't look like there are dealers near me. Those listed don't seem to carry residential washers or don't list the brand at all.

Now a SQ would be more like your old Amana. The new Amana is made by Whirlpool so a totally different thing. Personally I would skip Samsung but that is JMO.

Your 16 year old Amana was a rebranded SQ. Except for a few design improvements made by Alliance since they bought the division from Raytheon, the washer design is the same on the new ones.

Like sparky823 I would skip that Samsung TL. If you want higher efficiency, I would get a front loader (preferably SQ as well).

And we did some more research, found a SQ dealer, and just bought one. I think it will do the job and hope it will last. Thanks for the input!

If you bought the top loader you may want to adjust your water level so you get a full tub when washing on Super or Large, which ever they call it.(Full tub of water) Details are on you tube.
You will not regret getting the SQ(IMO).
