LG WT5170 TL HE washer or other recommendation

Need to buy a new washer ASAP, and really need one that will clean my muddy garden clothes and gloves in addition to more "normal" laundry.

Right now the LG WT5170HV is at the top of my list, but I'm kind of wishing I could just get a decent old-fashioned washer, just because I'm uncertain of how the new ones will clean. Anyone have comments on the LG or another recommendation? Thanks!

That model and the Samsung WA5471 are on my short list for consideration this fall, to replace our Bosch FL pair (both of which are starting to act up.) Right now I'm leaning towards the Samsung because of the past issues with the LGs self-destructing and my impression that the build quality is slightly better (metal tub hanger brackets vs. plastic in the LG, for instance.) In tests the LGs seem to come out on top in cleaning, but not by much, and probably not enough to overcome any engineering differences.

Decent old fashioned washer--Speed Queen. No Electronics.3 year warranty.

Thanks for your responses. I ended up ordering the WT5170.
