New Whirlpool top-loader failed on delivery!

New Whirlpool washer, WTW5200VQ, test run by delivery men, loud squeal when spin stops. Every time. Cursory examination underneath, everything appears to be correct. Replacement to be delivered tomorrow, but it's very frustrating of course. I've read about a number of squeal issues with older machines, but this is brand new! The delivery men were dumbfounded. Any ideas?

Pretty much the only thing that can squeal when spin stops is the basket brake. The squeal may occur if the basket is turned manually when the machine is off (unless the brake is too strong to do that, which is may be). It may be a temporary situation until the brake wears-in a little, or it may indicate a problem ... can't say without an examination.

New?....upon delivery?.....

Don't spend another moment worrying about it. Replacement en-toto. Problem solved. Don't waste your time figuring out other people's problems. You'll have enough of your own in due course!
