squeaking fisher paykel dryer

Finally got this dryer fixed. Decided to get the repairman to do the job since hubby hasn't worked on one of these. It was the bearings that were worn out. He put in a new unit at $188. One load dried and then it started again. Lucky we have a nice repair man. He came out and said it was the same part so he replaced it again. No charge. He said we shouldn't have any more trouble.
What happened to the washers and dryers that use to last 20yrs. We had a old pink dryer from the 50's that any kind of wire would work for the heating element. That is the one we replaced. Not holding out much hope for the new one, another 5 yrs ?

Just think of the numerous times the dryer turns. Stuff wears out. Things seem to last as long as you can get parts and are willing to pay for repairs. Only each person can make that decision.
