| My washer just died, after almost ten years. I don't need anything fancy, just something to get my clothes clean, affordable, and top loading (high efficiency is okay if it's affordable and it actually gets the clothes clean, doesn't smell bad, etc.). I don't really want to buy a used one, just a simple new one.
Thank you! Sandy |

| You might want to get a copy of Consumer Reports and see what they have to say. Your local library probably subscribes or an give you online access. My quick look shows an LG front loader WM2250C[W] at $720 and LG top loader LG WT4801C[W] at $700 as being recommended. |

| Consumer Reports online (which will cost money if your library doesn't offer it) has an advantage over the print edition, in that you can access user reviews in addition to CR's own tests. Their tests, while undoubtedly scientific and unbiased, don't always correlate with user satisfaction. |
