Stacking LG w/d on 2nd floor

I am considering stacking my LG washer (about 3 years old) and a one year old LG dryer. LG cutomer service told me they can be stacked. I currently have the machines side by side in the basement.

When I remodel, I want to move the machines to the second floor to be near bedrooms and ease the laundry schlepping (1st floor and basement below). If I do stack the machines upstairs, the space will be tight, like a closet installation.

What should I consider for this installation to minimize leaks, vibration, etc. Tile floor? Rubber surround? Floor reinforcement for weight?

I appreciate any tips. Thanks.

I believe you'll need a stacking kit which you can get from the manufacturer, I would think they'd have advised you of that. You shouldn't install, or at least run, a dryer behind a solid, unvented door. Be sure to allow enough clearance for the doors and be sure that whomever is doing the remodel understands what you're trying to do.
