Sizing removal

I recently purchased 100% cotton bandanas that have so much sizing as to be non-absorbant. Several washings have shown little improvement. Any suggestions for removing the sizing?

RE: Sizing removal

Sizing should be washed out after a few washings, and I would think even after the first. If they were relatively inexpensive, as most are, perhaps some other chemical was used to treat the fabric and give it body. A lot of loosely woven fabrics are chemically treated, to give the illusion of more body.
