| After reading information on using a water softener to help laundry detergent do a better job, I decided to pick up some Calgon today.
I was surprised when I picked up the box that it has a scent. I seemed quite strong and I didn't want to add that to my laundry. Are there any other options to soften water that have no scent? I do use a small amount of borax. |

| Borax should help to soften your water. Baking soda will also do the trick (1/4 cup for a front loader). Just add it along with your detergent, then add vinegar to your final rinse. |

| STPP: Sodium Tripolyphosphate is what I use for softening wash water. It has no scent. |
