Sick Bosch Compact Washer. HELP!

Posted by msmariposa37 (My Page) on

Our 13 year old Bosch 24" compact washer Model #WFK2401 needs a circuit board; cost $300.00 plus. Bosch tells us that new models have a different footprint and we cannot stack our current dryer on a new washer. We cannot afford to purchase both a washer and dryer. Would we be "penny wise and pound foolish" to go with a new circuit board?

Does anyone have other options to suggest?

Please and thank you.

Mariposa

Sears still has some parts available for that model:

You can also check if there are any independent appliance parts dealers in your area that sell Bosch washer parts. Of course, for this to work you will have to know exactly which part needs to be ordered, and then install it yourself or pay someone to install it for you.

If you have enough space for a shelf that is 30-inches wide x 24-inches deep you could try using a Metro brand commercial shelving tower to rest the dryer a couple of inches above the washer. That way you could mix and match laundry machines as you please. If you try this route you may want to add extra clamps to be extra sure that the shelf won't slide down under the weight of the dryer.
