| 20 yr old. normal wash cycle. fills - no agitation during wash cycle. end of wash cycle, dumps and agitates - rinse cycle - no agitation, spin cycle, agitation. timer works |

| Model number is needed for anyone to give you a useful answer. And more detail -- when there's no agitation during the wash and rinse periods, is the drive motor running or is the machine "dead" other than the timer advancing? |

| Helical drive mechanism with orbital transmission. It's considered a robust design. Simple trouble would be if the agitator splines are worn, slipping on the drive shaft. Can it be turned easily by hand? Worse is a problem inside the transmission. |
