Hi,

We are in the process of renovating a home. the laundry and kitchen are in separate rooms, but as one passes through the hallway they can view the both rooms. Kitchen cabs are creamy white shaker with soapstone and wood. laundry cabinets are same color but flat panel, Same white oak floors.

The budget does not allow for stone in the laundry. I had originally thought of doing a charcoal laminate to tie in with the soapstone. the washer/dryer are a bronzy metallic and kitchen appliances are stainless, but this is beginning to feel drab to me now.

Should I stick with dark tops in the laundry, to tie In with the soapstone, or lighten and brighten it a bit? it is a small house and I do not want it to feel choppy, but also don't want to be too monotonous.
