Maytag epic 9800 dryer won't start

My maytag epic 9800 dryer will not start. Does anyone have any advice or reviews on this product? I am disappointed because it is only a year old. It could have been a power surge due to recent storms in the area but not sure. I was just trying to troubleshoot as to not having to deal with repairman expenses.

First thing to check after a storm is all circuit breakers. Then unplug the machine for a few minutes and then plug it back in. If that doesnt do the trick you will likely have to call a service person out. If that is necessary you may want to see if your insurance will cover it if he says lightning surge did it.
