the radio guy is a fool. FL's do an awesome job of getting clothes clean. Far better than old-school TL. But whatever, knock yourself out getting another TL.

What a coincidence you should ask that. I just bought a GTWN4250D1WS washer and dryer GTDP49OEDWS that matched. I I bought them 2 weeks ago and I really like them. I thought the tub was larger than my former expensive washer. I have had medium to highest price appliances and the last 2 needed repair calls while warranted and later a couple of more repairs after the warranty expired. So I decided to get an inexpensive set and I chose GE washer $549. and a dryer $449. and the extended warranties. I was still ahead financially to what I usually bought. I couldn't be happier.

I don't usually buy extended warranties but with my track record with whirlpool appliances and repairs, I would recommend buying one. It is warrantied for 5 years every thing paid for or replace if it can't be repair. It has a 3 strikes you're it's replaced and they will come out every year and check them if you call even if there is no problem.

I don't know if the lid locks or not I always do what the salesperson told me. When I want to stop the washer I hold the start button in for 3 seconds and when ready I push the start button again. I don't think I have tried opening it without doing that. I will have to try next time. Our model numbers are a little different, maybe that is why.
