 o
Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer plug?

Existing 10 year old Maytag dishwasher has electric plug at the rear of the cabinet it is installed in.
Instructions for new F&P DishDrawer says to have plug in an adjoining cabinet. Is this to comply with new code or something. There is 11/16" of space behind the F&P, when installed, which should accommodate a flat type plug. I really do not want to install a new electrical box unless absolutely necessary. I also posted this on the plumbing forum.

Oops! Wrong forum.
Maybe I can get some opinions anyway?
