SpeedQueen Capacity question

My 10 year old Maytag finally bit the dust last night. It completely stopped spinning or draining.

I would like to buy a SpeedQueen (the middle level model) top-loader.

However, my only concern (other than the large $$$), is it is only 3.3 cf capacity.

I think my 10 year old machine is slightly larger.

Will I be able to fit a set of king size sheets in it?

Also, is it true, the only difference between the bottom two models is the extra rinse?

thanks -- the largest load I wash is a set of king size sheets.

SQ is arriving in six days.

It's a shame I had to pay twice as much as I planned to get a "normal" no frills washer.

Stir fryi, I have the AWN 432 which is the middle model. I can wash queen sized sheets with plenty of room for circulation. You should be fine with king size sheets.
As mrb stated, these tubs are plenty big. Over a year with my queens now and would buy again in a heartbeat!

Our previous washer had capacity above 4 cf, so DH was not sure when he learned SQ only has 3.3 cf. Yet we were so sold by SQ quality, we made the purchase thinking worst case we just wash more loads since SQ cycle is speedy.

It turned out we never feel the difference in capacity between the old washer and SQ. I am so grateful, our SQ pair never have one single problem. Really, what's good having a large capacity washer if it does not work?

We only have king size bedding, we washed all of them in SQ other than thick comforters. We also wash the extra long shower curtain, super size thick bath towels and heavy large bath rugs.

When I am typing this I have to stop and think about our SQ. The washer and dryer work so well we forget about them, it is like we don't think when wearing a pair of comfortable shoes, only the shoes pinch and cut and hurt they would get our attention.

Had two Maytags at mom's place. Replaced with SQ. SQ tub is bigger than the Maytags but not as big as the new HE machines. SQ is better built than the old Maytags...and that's saying something.

Be advised that no matter what you get, there will ALWAYS be something you own that won't fit.

I can say one thing though. After years of porcelain coated washbaskets, I think SS is superior in that there is no porcelain to etch or wear out.
The SS tubs will get smoother with use.

The extra money you spent bought you a washer that offers a superior warranty no one else offers and performance to match.

We washed our King size sheets for the first time today in our new SQ and I probably could have fit another set.

I love this machine.
