Are stacked FL's too high?

Posted by karenlk10 (My Page) on

I just started thinking about replacing my washer/dryer with a set of stacked FL's to save on space. But looking at the photos and measurements, it seems the controls on the dryer (if on top) would be hard to reach! For that matter, how hard is it to grab that stray sock that hides in the back of the dryer bin when it's up so high?
Curious how this would work

RE: Are stacked FL's too high?

I have an LG washer and a dryer that are stacked. I am 5'6" and have no issues reaching in for stray socks at the back of the drum. In fact, I really like having my dryer door up high so that I don't have to bend over when taking out and folding laundry. The controls are not a problem to reach but you could have a problem reading any electronic displays if the control panel is slanted back (some front loaders I have seen have the door panel sort of sticking out like a big belly, with the controls that are not flat but the panel is set back and slightly slanted, so I would imagine this may be hard to see or reach if the appliances are stacked). Also, if you are really petite, I would think it may be more difficult to use a stacked set.
