I don't think Miele is representing a load size in terms of weight for their 4000 series washers.

However, the 4000 series washers are essentially similar in size to the smallest commercial washers made by Miele, which have a capacity of approximately 7.5KG, or 16.5 lbs.

Hm, the Bosch Nexxt 500 is listed at 3.8 cuft and a capacity of 9kg (20 pounds). I would think that the Miele 48xx series are about the same.

EPA size don't match IEC. The W4800/w4840 (4.0IEC) are smaller than Bosch(3.8IEC)and LG (4.0IEC) is you use EPA method of measurement.

When I was deciding on which Miele washer to get I spoke to customer service.

You can fit 13 regular size bath towels in the the 12XX series. A queen or a king summer comforter will fit

The 48XX series will hold 17 towels or a king winter comforter.
