covering my shut off valves

I am in need of ideas and pictures. We are remodeling a laundry room. I have a FL washer and dryer and will have a counter above them. I can't put in a recessed box for the shut off valves. So I need to consider having them come through the counter. I know I have seen at least one picture on this site showing how to disguise these valves with a decorative box or something but I can' seem to find any pictures now that I am trying to come up with a solution. Any recommendations?

Consider putting in a shutoff valve with one of these two configurations that will allow you to have box above the counter:
