Dryer snagging buttons

Hi,

I have a strange problem. The lint trap on my dryer has little bit of large holes where the buttons of my clothes are getting stuck and they are being snagged out. I was thinking of buying fiberglass vent trap and sticking on it. Is this a good solution or are there any other. Thanks in advance for the help. I have a GE space saver laundry unit.
