Need help choosing sink for indirect drain

We are moving our basement laundry room, and it will require that the machine drain directly into the sink. (We will install a Saniswift grey water pump below the sink to move the water into the sewer). I'm thinking that the sink is going to get lots of abuse from the dirty water that drains into it from the washing machine. What's the best option? A regular old $75 laundry tub? Acrylic? Composite? Cast Iron? Something that is easy to clean and will hold up over time would be best.

Also need to know the sink capacity needed for a Kenmore HE3T to drain into. Some of the drop-in sinks I've seen are about 17 gallon. Is that big enough? We are considering a drop in laundry sink rather than a (larger) stand-alone tub because I'd like to have a counter top work space.

I couldn't find any related posts, so if it's been discussed before, please redirect me to any links. Thanks!
