Ivory Snow (Gentle Care Detergent)

From the ad's I've been seeing on TV lately Ivory Snow isn't for baby clothes anymore. Now it is a "Gentle Care" detergent for use on "Good" clothes.

I bought a bottle last week and have done about six loads with it and I LOVE IT! I can use a full dose in my front loader (Asko) and while it does suds up for a few minutes, the suds then dissipate just prior to the wash being over. Everything comes out soo soft and the smell of the dried clothes is amazing. Even my laundry challenged partner wanted to know what I was doing different with the laundry (It smelled so good).

Anyone else tried it?

Justin

I am actually on Spring Break and I plan on picking up some of the powdered while I'm here. I bought some for my cousin to use who just had a baby and she loved it. Did you use the liquid or powder?

I bought the liquid. Just picked up my second bottle this morning, actually. I can't get over the amazing smell and the fact that it cleans really well. I think it is going to replace Persil in my aresonal!

I have been using the powder for a while now on my mothers clothes. Since she is elderly I wanted to make sure the sheets are soft so they won't bother her skin. It works fine for me in the F/L but then I only use about 1/8 cup cause it does suds but I have soft water. I bought the powder cause I was afraid the liquid would suds more so I may try it next. The powder only comes in the 15 load box that I have found. I also use Downy Free with it.

You know it used to be Ivory Soap and then a few years ago they changed it to detergent. To me it really smelled good back when it was the soap for baby clothes and made no suds back then, but it didn't always clean the baby clothes either.

Do you wash all your clothes in it or just "good clothes"?

Just my clothes (except whites). Also sheets/blankets/throw's. Whites I do in either Tide HE or Persil. Towels, cleaning towels, pool towels, kitchen towels, rugs and the like all get Tide HE or Persil.

Just a quick report on the Ivory Snow in case anyone is interested. I've been using the powder the last few weeks in my FridGEmore FL. I only use it on our dress clothes that I normally use Cheer on and on the sheets. The powder does suds up a bit, but it rinses out beautifully. And even though I wish the scent would actually linger, it seems to rinse away also. I throw a little STPP in with it and it's been working well. Having said that, I wouldn't even attempt to use it on the boys play clothes or filthy dirty baseball uniforms. I head to the Ariel for those :)
