Opinions on best front load washer

Posted by kntryhuman (My Page) on

I have a Whirlpool Cabrio that I finally got my money back on from NSI!

I have to pick out a new washer and I want to get a front load. I need opinions on which washer is best, i.e: the least repairs, no mold, etc.

Thanks for the help.

Let your budget be your guide. It seems like Meile has fewer repairs, but tehy can be expensive up front to buy. I do not think there is a certain brand that resist mold and smells better than another brand. Its all in how you use the machine and care for it. No not over load it with detergent and fabric softener as this can create a "scud" that builds up in a machine to produce a foul smell. Washing in warm and hot water helps to reduce this "Scud" from what I have read, along with leaving the door open after your done with it so fresh air can circulate and dry the machine out.

I don't think you need to start a new thread asking for opinions. Just look at the hundreds (thousands?) already posted in this forum.

I love my Miele -- I have the last of the 220v models with a boil wash option. Model # is w1215 (stainless) or w1213 (white).

I had a GE front loader before the Miele. While it was perfectly fine and I had no issues with it -- the Miele is vastly superior. It cost about 50% more but I guess I get what I pay for.
