| A salesman recommended this unit (& the matching dryer) to fit in our laundry closet. We measured the dryer and it seems like it would just fit, with either a (left) side venting or with a 2.5" rectangular duct on the back.
We didn't measure the washer, since usually it's the dryer that's the problem. Ironically the specs at www.inglis.ca (and everywhere else) imply the washer's the problem.
We have 30.5" of depth to the back wall. The specs say the washer is 30.75" deep. So my first hope is that someone with this unit can measure and confirm whether the stacked set is truly more or less than 30.5" deep (assuming a 2.5" or side venting on the dryer).
Also, are the Inglis, Maytag, and Amana really the identical machine? Or is there some minor difference inside? I've seen reviews online, mostly of the Amana and mostly good.
The other unit recommended by the saleman was a 24" Inglis set that may not have a Maytag/Amana equivalent (at least not with a near-identical model #): www.inglis.ca/index.php/en/products/laundry/washers/ifr4200. The pricing on the pair is about the same as the 27" (~C$1200). Does anyone have experience with this, or an American equivalent?
Thanks!
