Basic GE washer and dryer

I am wondering if anyone has any experience with these basic front load washers and dryers from GE - GFWN1100DWW and GFMN110GDWW. I don't think I need the steam element - just want a good basic w/d. Any comparisons with LG? I see on this site there are problems with service of LGs.

Have you looked at the Speed Queens? I have no experience with GE or Speed Queen, but people here are happy with their Speed Queens because they are basic and very well built in the US.

all i can contribute is that I wouldn't bother spending an extra dollar to get the steam function on either washer or the dryer. I have both and it just isn't all that useful. handy maybe, for the drier, but no essential. to refresh wrinkled clothes in the dryer just spritz them with a spray bottle of clean water.
furthermore, the little bit of steam generated during a wash cycle is like spitting into the ocean...
