Asko Dryer T760

Our dryer was getting extremely hot while drying, but did not shut down due to the overhead cutout. The control panel is lit up, but stays only on P2 with three options. Nothing operates on the control panel. I checked the voltage across the thermister terminals on the circuit board and its about 4.98 vdc. The spec call out 5 vdc, which is pretty close. Anyone have an idea where I should start? Does a bad thermister cause the control panel to be come inoperable?
