Silly question about delay between loading and starting washer

This is a trivial question, but here goes. Sometimes I find myself loading everything, including the detergent and softener, into my Samsung HE top loader, and then not actually turning it on and running it until much later in the day. Usually this is because I have the time to sort/load clothes/detergent in the morning, but then someone in my family has to take a shower so I don't want to use the water right then. Sometimes a whole day goes by before I turn it on.

Also if I've already poured in the right amount of detergent/softener/bleach, I have a better chance of asking my husband to run down to the basement later on to simply turn on the machine.

So my question is, is there some reason this is a bad idea? Does the machine drain the detergent out if it doesn't get turned on after a while? Do the detergent or liquid softener start to dry out in the little dispensers, so that doing this often could clog them? Should I get a life and not worry about such trivialities? Thank you!
