I hope that you have your problem solved by now, however this happened to me last year before my machine was 7 mos old. They had to replace the whole electric panel.
good luck,

THE HE3 IS LIKE THE WHIRLPOOL DUET IS GERMAN MADE DUE TO THE STRICT SANITATION LAWS THERE CANNOT BE ANY RESTRICTIONS OF OUT GOING DRAINS WHICH MOST ERROR CODES ARE RELATED TO VERIFY THE ERROR CODE BEFORE YOU FRY SOMETHING.DONT DRIVE WITH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON

RE: HE3 HF error

Hi - if you get the HF error on the Kenmore He3 please check the screen filters where the water lines connect to the valve/solenoid assembly at the back of the machine. We took the machine apart and tested every electronic component. Finally, after running the self diagostic test, we narrowed the problem down to the hot water valve which was gunked up at the screen. The screens are easy to get at and do not require any disassembly of the case - just disconnect the water lines. The washer runs like a champ now!
