favorite baby yarns

I just found out that one of my cousins is expecting in March. I would really like to make her a baby blanket, and have no idea what yarn to use. I used LionBrand Pound of Love on the last baby blanket I made, but I don't like the colorways it comes in.

I'd like to have something with vibrant colors - no pastels. For one, babies can't see pastels well, and for two, the mother is definately not a pastel person!

So, what are YOUR favorite baby yarns?

If you are looking for bright colors, I would suggest Caron Simply Soft Brites or Lion Brand Baby Soft. I think you should find what you want with both of these. Red Heart Sport yarn also has the bright colors you are looking for. Your selection will be base on what weight you need. Have fun!

For acrylic, Caron's Simply Soft is nice, If you want cotton, check out Knitpicks Crayon and Blue Sky Alpaca's cotton. For wool, Dale's Baby Ull is soft and washable.
