It would be so much easier to help you find the pattern you're looking for if we could see a picture of the hat. Any chance you can get a photo for us?

This one is cabled. Doesn't seem it would be to hard to add bobbles where you want them.

Thank you all so much for the search. I think if I leave out every other cable on the "cable" hat pattern from yarnlover, and add the bobbles in those spaces it'll be very close.
