Sheilajoyce, I know what you mean about the problem with repeats. Unfortunately, you can't always tell how often the repeat will occur when you buy the yarn. I finally finished the tiger socks I was making for my daughter and my two grandsons, and am so sick of tiger stripes. The repeat was a short one, so matching was no problem. But my 8-year old grandson loves his socks so much he grabs them as soon as they've come out of the dryer so that he can wear them again. Now he has asked me to make him a second pair so that he will always have a clean pair. And I happen to have enough left to do so, so of course I promised him I would do it (I can refuse him nothing).

He even looked through some of my stash and asked if I would make him a pair (or "un"pair) of socks with one variegated and one solid. My daughter said no way, but maybe he'd start a fashion trend.

It would be a great way to use up leftovers!

Tee hee, I find it fascinating that my socks keep coming up on this forum. Hmm, I got that yarn at WalMart and I think they still have it. Guess I just lucked out at getting my patterns to match up with it. I haven't made anymore like them but I knitted a pair out of Caron's Simply Soft Shadows for myself and they turned out pretty. This yarn also makes a pattern and you kind of have to waste a lot of it to get it to match up.
