Most patterns have an index of what their abbreviations mean...doesn't yours? I did google with "2/2RC, P3" as the subject and found the following site, which should make it clear...(and, you're right...it is a cable)

2/2 RC (2/2 Right Cross) Slip next 2 sts to cable needle and hold at back, k2, then k2 from cable needle.

I find all the different abbreviations confusing, and I've knitted for years... here's the best site I've run across, and it seems to contain ANY sort of knitting abbreviation you can think of. So, add it to your favorites for your next project.
