fleece and yarn donations

I am writing this letter to request a donation of any yarn or fleece you may have that you no longer want. I am working on a project with a group of friends this Christmas. Our intention is to donate around 1000 - 2000 hats, scarves, and fleece blankets to local homeless shelters and battered women’s and children’s shelters. We have made about 150 items so far, but we have exhausted our personal supply of yarn and fleece. We are not asking for anything amazing, just looking for any that you might need to get rid of.

Try Freecycle in your area and haunt thrift shops and let it be known what you need.
