| I am looking for a pattern for a shopping bag I can use to haul groceries or anything I buy, just so I can avoid collecting those plastic bags.
I've seen the pattern which can be crocheted from old plastic bags, but I'd rather use yarn. I think crocheting would be stronger than knitting, maybe. Thanks all. |
Follow-Up Postings:

| I heard the other day that someone cut the plastic bags in narrow continuous strips and used that along with with yarn. It appeared to be very strong but I don't have the pattern. She didn't have the pattern either, but had bought one, hoping she could make up the pattern from it. ivamae |

| Socks, I have a pattern for a very nice durable bag that I think you might like. It's called the Envirotote and calls for cotton worsted weight yarn. Send me an email if you'd like to have it. |

| Lion Brand has a few market tote patterns and you can create any bag you want - I did a hobo bag in cotton as a beach tote/grocery sack. However, I made a few of these string bags from the pattern on the SugarNCream cotton. They work well and my daughter uses hers in CA at Trader Joes & Henrys all the time that people ask where she bought it and if I could make one for them. See the link for string bag at the end of the list. |
