you knit a row and purl a row. I have not knitted in years and I am looking for something simple for a scarf.

I bet you ladies know the answer to this question. I tried the all knit but did not care for that. I would prefer something smoother but I am having trouble following a pattern. Thank You N

Ok, now I know, it rolls. So what now?

You can knit about 4-6 rows so you have a garter row. Then you can have either about 4 stitches on each sides in garter stitch or moss stitch. Tat will prevent rolling. End scarf with same number of garter rows.

    Hi Calverttx,
I have been making knitted dish cloths and one pattern suggested that you slip the first stitch of each row as if to knit. It seems to prevent the rolling for me. It gives a nice edge too.I hope it works for you.

Vickey has the answer. Use her "pattern" suggestions.
