Moving working yarn

Hi gang,

I am knitting the baby kimono from Mason/Dixon Knitting book.

I was advised to knit up one sleeve first, then the other. The start of the right sleeve is on a stich holder.

Okay, I am now through with the left sleeve, now how do I get the working yarn to the right sleeve without joining the two sleeves at the neck?

I haven't made this pattern, but I suspect if they don't have you working somehow from one sleeve across to the other side, they intend for you to break the yarn and start again on the other side.

I don 't have this book but it sounds like, as craftfetish said, you need to break the yarn. If you do this, leave a long enough piece to help with seaming so you don't have to weave in an extra end. OTOH, you mention that one sleeve is on a stitch holder. How are the sleeves attached to the body?

Thanks for the advice, guys. I figured I'd have to break the yarn to get to the other side.

Threesjsmom, sleeves are knitted onto the body. Picture a one-piece kimono.
