Mary Maxim Kits give LOTS of yarn

I'm just past half way through knitting the Love and Support Blanket kit from Mary Maxim. The kit contained 10 large skeins of yarn, and I've only just started using skein #5. I knitted or crocheted a couple other kits from MM and I always have at least one or more full skeins left over.

I suppose that is a good thing and they allow for it.

Anyone else with the same experience with her kits.

I could probably make a matching pillow.

You are lucky to yarn left over.
I have used Mary Maxim kits for years and have about enough
yarn to complete project with very little left over.
I always check my gauge before I start.

I don't always check gauge for afghans, but I just measured the pink one and it is spot on. I've made three MM kits in the last two years with at least one unused skein left over in each case. Perhaps they figured out that it is cheaper to send a little more yarn than trying to match it later when the poor knitter runs out.
