Stacey, I deciphered this pattern by looking at a photo of a one-piece hexagon afghan for someone else. You might give it a try if you can't find another pattern. I'm giving instruction for the first 13 rows. It just repeats and you should be able to figure it out. If you'd like to see the photo you can email me and I'll send it to you:

Chain 6, slip stitch to form a ring.

Row 1: chain 3, 17 dc in ring, sl st to top of ch 3.

Row 2: ch 3, dc in base of ch 3, 2 dc in next dc, ch 2, sk next dc, *2 dc in each of next 2 dc, ch 2. Repeat from * around. Sl st in top of ch 3.

Row 3: ch 3, dc in base of ch 3, ch 2, sk next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 2, *2 dc in next dc, ch 2, sk next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 2. Repeat from * around, sl st in top of ch 3 (dropping your present color and picking up next color with sl st).

Row 4: ch 3, dc in base of ch 3, dc in next dc, long dc in next 2 dc BELOW ch 2 sp, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 2, *2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc, long dc in next 2 dc BELOW ch 2 sp, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 2. Repeat from * around, sl st in top of ch 3.

Row 5: ch 3, dc in base of ch 3, dc in next 6 dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 2, *2 dc in next dc, dc in next 6 dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 2. Repeat from * around, sl st in top of ch 3.

Row 6: ch 3, dc in base of ch 3, dc in next 3 dc, ch 2, sk 2 dc, dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 2, *2 dc in next dc, dc in next 3 dc, ch 2, sk 2 dc, dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 2. I have been searching for this pattern and finally see a picture of the afghan here. Does anyone know what this pattern is called and/or where I can find it? Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

This pattern was in a crochet magazine called quick and easy crochet in the 1980s. I lost the pattern and have been searching for it. If anyone has this specific pattern I would love to have it. The name of this pattern was southwest lapghan. It was done in southwest colors. Please email me at odalieh@hotmail.com.

odalie, if this looks familiar, you can access the pattern by joining the site (at no cost, apparently).

[This looks like the same pattern as above; it's the 5th afghan in the third column. To get the pattern you apparently need to be a Pinterest member and also a Ravelry.com member; Ravelry is a great free site for creative folks.]

And another Southwest afghan from the first site:
