Yes, I finally finished it. I actually like the colors much better than I thought I would. And when Xaden gets older he will still be able to use it, because it isn't baby colors.

donna ...

your blanket is a wonderful pattern, very creative! certainly the colors you selected will appeal to xadenor for years and years (instead of baby blues or pinky pinks! lol).

can you share the pattern to the squares? i kinda see lots of big kisses represented by the big x's each square has. also, did you have to block the heck out of your blanket to lay flat?

Diane, I'd be happy to share the pattern with you, but I don't know how to send attachments with email sent through this forum. Send me an email so I have your email address and I'll send it to you. I'll also give you the few changes I made and you can decide whether to use them or make the pattern as printed.

I blocked each square after it was done so that it would be easer to sew them together (the stockinette tens to curl), but didn't do any blocking after the blanket was done. I only got a little bit of ruffling on the border, but decided it didn't look bad, so I left it alone.

great job - one that will be loved for many years to come. I am sure that your daughter will love it! I like the blue to offset the grey.

Beautiful job! I like the pattern, too.
