how to measure for a raglan sleeve ?

Would someone instruct me how to measure for a raglan sleeve?

The instructions tell me to measure from the collar to the armpit. Do I measure from the collar in the back or from the front?

Thank you

I've made a lot of raglan sleeved sweaters, although they've been knitted 'in the round'. However, the back and front raglans are treated in the same manner, so I'd think that would mean that the measurements would be the same, whether you measure from the collar down the front, in a diagonal manner, or from collar and down the back....I'd do from collar to armpit in the front, as the easiest way to do the back, someone else would really have to do that, I'd think.

Thank you. I figured that it didn't matter or the instructions would have stated -- but just in case, someone else's imput gives me more confidence.
